Why Your Time Matters
Volunteering is a practical way to support the Indigenous Health Centre of Tiohtià:ke. Whether you can commit a few hours a month or a weekly schedule, your involvement can make a difference. When you join us, you will:
- Gain firsthand insight into the current realities and unique health needs of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Montreal.
- See how clinical services work alongside traditional healing practices to support the mind, body, spirit, and emotional well-being of our clients.
- Develop a practical understanding of what culturally safe care looks like and why it is essential for building trust and equity in healthcare settings.
- Play an active role in providing tangible support, whether through organizing resources, assisting with outreach, or creating educational resources for the community.
- Contribute to a growing effort to close gaps in health service delivery and advance self-determination in the urban Indigenous community of Tiohtià:ke.
